hi friends, how will Araku valley for us to trek the beautiful hills,n can trek even katiki water falls which are near to borra caves(nearly 100 kms away from vizag),i guess that would be a ideal trekking place, and even we can visit borra caves.A small description about the place :
Araku valley is a famous hill station of AP. It is located at a distance of 120 KM from Visakhapatnam ( Vizag )is famous for its scenic beauty. Located on the eastern ghats , it has valley, water falls and streams flowing by the side of the train track and roads . The journey to Araku Valley is the most enjoying as the rail passes through tunnels, hill sides and streams. . It is better to go to Araku by train and return by road. You can see the local tribal dance at if you are on APTDC package tour. If you are at Araku then you must see Borra caves.
Hi,
I think Narsapur forest will be a good trekking spot. It is close to 70km from Hyderabad. I along with my HBC buddies went there for cycling. The forest looks cool. For a detailed path check out our HBC blogs.

For those interested in combining a little bit of history with adventure Hampi and Badami provide a lot of opportunities. Apart from the standard touristy and historical things, I have heard that there are several hills in the area that can explored. And the touristy things are well worth it as well. Very convenient train / bus connections to make it a good weekend trip.
This could be one of the best treks in and around Hyderabad. Ahobilam is located in the Nandyal Taluka of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh, India. It is located at a distance of 40 km from Nandyal approximately 240 kms from hyd.
There are nine temples around the Nallamala Forest range. A few temples can be reached through trekking. Some temples are inside the cave. Some temples are very difficult to trek to.
This would be a two day trip more suitable for the weekend.

I would be more than glad to organize this trip for HAC in the month of october.

Talakona is located in the picturesque Nagari valley, 45 kms away from Tirupati amidst verdant hills of Nallamalai range. The 60 meter perennial waterfalls is said to contain minerals that have curative properties. Talakona literally means head hill in Telugu (tala ? head and kona ? hill). However, Thalakona allegorically means ?the head of the Seshachalam hills? as these mountains are believed to be the starting point of the Tirumala mountain ranges.

The Talakona waterfalls are about 45 minutes walk from the guest house. It would be great fun to trek up the hill in search of the origin of the water steam. The views from up the hill too would be breathtaking.
This is just a vague Idea, but am sure people can build on this...Just imagine how it wud be if we hire a Lorry, the proper Tank wala...huge one, and go on a Lorry drive to cover long distances like Hyderabad to say Gujarat....or Punjab...
Ofcourse we would not be driving, we wud have hire Lorry along with 2-3 driver/cleaner set up...Nights you never know where u stop, and wherever u feel scenic, with amenities like chula, paani, we stop over, make typical lorry wala style rotis and munch all our way to and fro, cutting across the most beautiful villages...and exploring rural india...We can have a dip in the Lake/water body that comes on our way....May be we can organise and plan for say a week max...
Am sure people who luv Riding/drives, would love this concept..what makes it more interesting is Lorry and roadside ka life...we can tie-up with one of these leading Social marketing companies, like Go rural, Save the Children, Basix, etc and see if we get some mileage/sponsorship fund/media support also..
Read a lot about the beauty of Athirappalli- Vazhachaal falls in Kerala. In fact it is called the Indian Niagara Falls. Might be a good place to visit especially during the summer hols.

Beach at Bhimili / Vizag and Araku Valley trip would be wonderful combination.
I bet it would be as wonderful as this poem:
At The Beach ~~~
You roll down the window
And even before you see it
You smell that salty, ocean scent
You already know your there
At the beach
Where the breeze is best
Where the sun is most powerful
Mother Nature?s birthplace
At the beach
There so much to do
Starting from building sand castles
To finding shells so odd looking
..
The list is as big as space
As long as infinity
At the beach
As you walk on the shore
You see the sky red as the sun sits on the water
You feel the sand filling the gaps between your toes
You hear the soothing sounds of the waves
At the beach
Some claim to see the most wondrous things
Like beautiful mermaids sitting on rocks
Or the mysterious Loch Ness Monster
And even the lost city of Atlantis
At the beach
..
