We are trekkers hence be prepared for anything worse. “Do not grumble.” - Picked up from Arun's page
Difficulty level - Medium.
We will be trekking 28km in 2 days , if you are not used to it please don't RSVP and waste a spot
We will be camping outside in nature ...


Ok .. now that we screened/feared lot of people out :) here are more important details ..

Where ?

DudhSagar Falls located on the Mandovi River in the state of Goa, on Goa's border with Karnataka. Dudhsagar Falls is listed as India's 5th tallest waterfall,and is 227th in the world at 310 m.
This is a four tiered waterfall with a total height of 310 meters (1017 feet) and an average width of 30 meters (100 feet).


What we try to do ? :

Railway track [ in operation] runs close to the falls , which also has few tunnels on the way to the falls, we will get down at Castle Rock station and trek 14km to water falls. Camp near the falls .. and trek back to Castle Rock... next day and board back train to hyd at Londa Junction. we will be back by 10am monday. Whole place will be so pristine in monsoon and added to that different experience of trekking through tunnels. Camping in nature .. best part is we have to find the place is to where to stay ... :)
Expect few leeches but you will get used to that :)

Tentative Itinerary: [ things may vary later ]

Friday 9pm : Kachiguda Train to Castle rock station
Sat 11am: Arrivall../ Refresh
Sat 12pm : Trek to falls 14km ..
Sat 5pm : Spend time near falls
Sat 7pm : Camp in our own tents...../ Dinner
Sun 5am : Wakeup call
Sun 6am : Early morning trek back to Castle rock... 14km.
Sun 1pm : Lunch / Board Goodstrain to Londa Junction / Or catch taxi to Londa junction [ 1hr travel]
Sun 4:30pm : Train from Londa junc to reach Begumpet on monday 9:30am.


Things to bring: [ All are must ]

Sleeping bag
Need to share tents weight [ Extra weight ]
Need to carry Food Items [ Extra weight ]
Torch , Rain sheets
Trekking wear , Shoes & Extra pair of socks. [ Get good shoes and better if you are using them already]
*Extra snacks to make more friends .. :)

1000 / - . we will share the cost if it is more than this , mostly it wont be ..
[ Food in Train is excluded ...]
Few things in between are not planned and these things are must in an adventure trek.

Note: Most of us may not be serious trekkers but all of us have equal responsibility in protecting our beloved earth. GHAC earnestly requests all its members to be socially responsible whilst the treks and avoid any littering, shouting when in wild or causing anything that would disturb the normal ecology. Try to avoid plastics as much as possible, especially plastic smiles.

Important Instructions:
1) no smoking and no alcohol
2) No littering, no pollution of water
3) This is not a luxury trip, but all care has been taken to make your trip comfortable
4) ladies and gents accommodation is separate in tents.
5) Food will be mostly vegetarian
6) We carry Basic First Aid and if you need anything you can ask the organizers
7) if you feel unwell bring to the notice of the organizers immediately.
8) If you cant swim don't go deep into the water

    •  Awesome trek with great people , special thanks to all guys who bought all important food and also to ksree for patient photography ; srikanth/kranthi for negotations with TC.# Railway track trekking through tunnels/bridges with great views in between , awesome location for camping , gorgeous water falls , fun in train ... lot of memories to cherish. 
    •  Words like awesome, heaven....fall short to describe DudhSagar. The Sweet 16 who attended are Rock. I thank you for the support. Though its my first Trek I wish to give you these testimonials.... Photographer of the Trek: KSree...4 perseverance for the shot Naughty HB of the Trek: Nisha....Please keep silence (read on the Voice of Arun) Cleverest of the trek: Who else the 'D' of the game Chaya..... Best Snack of the trek:...it's not Hubli ka idli....but for me its ...everything that was shared. & finally... Best person during the Trek: Train driver who stopped the Train on seeing us at dudhsagar Best part of the trek is definitely the Return journey of the train......a big wow to DCP for making us laugh all the night. 
    •  The scenic beauty, cloudy skies, pleasant weather, mind boggling falls and also lots of energy and exuberance among the group made this one of my most memorable trek... 
    •  Awesome location!! Wonderful Group!! We never cooked but had enjoyed the food!! 5 on 5 
    •  Awesome trek and very good job by the organizers Long train journey with good friends trekking along railway tracks in the rain trying to make sure that you don't step on sh*t walking through tunnels beside awesome scenery midnight chatting with friends sitting on railway tracks mist of the huge waterfall... while the monkeys stole all our chocolates photography under colourful umbrella getting wet at small railway station bargaining with the TC by pretending to be students street photography in the colourful market of londa chilling around the railway station with absolutely no worry in the world playing with fishermen's children showing off their catch of fish and crabs Getting to see a beautiful rainbow... Getting to know more about Arun's awesome work with the tribes... Instinctively getting off a station to realize that i've forgot my wallet and phone on the train :p bas yaadein yaadein... yaadein reh jati hai... kuch choti choti... baatein reh jaati hai :)

    •  Awing trek enjoyed a lot thnk you Sreenath and Arun great group thank you every one to make it a grt trek 
    •  Amazing train trail trek - it’s all over on the ‘scale of balance’ - Not to the left, not to the right, not in the center, but all over. Great home work and location visualization by Sreenath. A nonstop fun with DCP, Kiran, Srikanth, Sukumar and many infact - and thanks to all of you guys!! 
    •  Dudhsagar waterfalls !! the tough trek along the railway track which was a totally different kind was a little tiresome due to the irregular path.. but things were easy because of the wonderful, enthusiastic and cheerful group which our mood so lively .. munching snacks, chips, chocolates, dry fruits, juice all the while and the Amazing and wonderful nature with water falls and low clouds everywhere and the chilling dark tunnels which stretched to almost a km in length...and above all.. a wonderful photographer like Ksree sir, always smiling and taking snaps of everyone with a lot of patience and guys !! I am in love with his 10-member tent which saved us from a heavy rain :-P Arun and Sreenath... buddies.. .. Amazing trip.. thanks a lot guys... we enjoyed every bit of it. Waiting for many more in the coming days.... 
    •  Monsoons bring joy to milllions in India. For us it was an experince of getting close to this water cycle. Every essence of it in the purest form. The rain drops, the dew, the air, the water and the water falls. Absolute moment of joy... 
    •  Amazing train trail trek ...............Wonderful Group especially chaya( chaiiii) (D) never forget the cards game and the winner ....................night train journey ...............and the (G barkeeeeee) feelings and loooooooooooot no words to say .............. and the great team of 16 with 2 leaders ( organizers ) thanks to sreenath and arun and to all the members 
    •  This was my first railway track trek and had amazing fun.., the serenity of the nature, the slight rain and the amazing group made it a trip to remember for life! Thanks a lot to Sreenath and Arun for arranging such a wonderful weekend trip!
