Aye Lads & Lassies!
Those who thought I was hibernating! Or perhaps gone fishing with Andrew Symonds, I’m back with a great treat for the glorious summer. For all those who have been with the club for a while and have had thoughts of graduating at the Bear Grills University, here is a pre-university warm-up course; “Explore Tyda”. A trip intended to learn more about Tyda coupled with the fun of camping in the forest and perhaps a bit of hitchhiking.

Located at an altitude of 1520 ft en route to Araku, Tyda is 75 km. from Visakhapatnam. Nestled in the Eastern Ghats, endowed with rich natural heritage of vast forest tract, Tyda is an exciting destination for bird watchers, nature lovers and trekkers.
Okay! And the itinerary;
April 1st - Board train to Vizag (Vishakhapatnam) at 1700 hrs.
April 2nd - 0715 hrs calling at Vizag and head to Tyda either by train or bus depending on the availability. It takes us about 2 hours to reach Tyda and we check-in at the posh 5 Star hotel. Oops! Sorry that cannot be a part of the Bear Grills drill, so we would look for a place where we could camp instead
and that’s after a short break for breakfast at the railway station. Now then do not overdo your breakfast as we need to trek a wee bit before we camp. Let me assure you that we would put up our tents just before twilight.
Caution/note: Do carry enough food for two days, preferably dates, figs, cakes (I fancy walnut brownies
) , cookies, easy to cook food etc. Please do bear in mind that we aren’t staying at any hotel, hence be prepared for the worst.
April 3rd – Wake up to the call of the chirping birds, get ready for another long day. The sketch for the day is to find water resources and also explore the place further before dusk.
April 4th – Wakey-wakey, we going back home. Make our way back to the railway station and head to Vizag. Board the train to Hyderabad by evening.
Cost: Approximate Rs 2,000 per head
