Bhuvanagiri

Bhongir, Bhongiri or Bhuvanagiri is a town.It is 48 km from Hyderabad. Bhongir is famous for its fort, which became prominent during the rule of the Kakatiyas.

The Fort was built on an isolated monolithic rock by the Western Chalukya ruler Tri-bhuvana-malla Vikram-aditya VI and was named after him as Tribhuvanagiri. This name gradually became Bhuvanagiri and subsequently Bhongir. According to legend, there once was an underground corridor connecting Bhongir Fort to Golconda Fort. Please note that this Trek doesn't intend to find that corridor smile

We will trek to Bhongir fort on sunday afternoon/ evening and play holi together and back home after light dinner at a DHABA

The Schedule:

2:15 pm Assemble at Sanman Hotel near Tarnaka X Road after the Petrol pump
2:30 start for Bhongir
3:30-4:00pm: reach Bhongir and Start climbing Bhongir Fort
5:30 pm: Climb Down
6:00 pm : Have light snacks at some Restaurant
7:30 back to Tarnaka x Roads

Meeting Point
We will meet at Sanman Hotel Tarnaka X road at 2:15pm and proceed towards bhongir via the uppal road on the warangal highway

We will pool in car and bikes

Things to Bring:

* carry water bottles - 2 liters per person
* wear loose light colored cotton tracks and sport shoes
* Cameras to click kodak moments!
* get fruits/juices/energy bar / something to munch on after and during the trek
* have your breakfast or carry along
* carry your lunch along

RSVP Rules

We have some members who just RSVP "Yes" for a meetup and never show up at the meetup. Such members who do not turn up are blocking a seat and are preventing and denying another member a good opportunity to participate

Please respect the organizers time and efforts and cooperate. Do not do 'Yes' RSVP if you are not sure about attending. If you have a valid reason for not attending please inform the organizer 12 hours before the commencement of the trek and remove your RSVP.

Organising Committee will take strict action against such members who do not show up after RSVPing 'Yes'.

The Following Penalties will apply for No shows for all treks

Ban on participation in further treks for 1 month for members who have 1 No show
Ban on Participation in further treks for 3 months for members who have more then 2 No shows.
Ban on Participation in further treks for 6 Months for members who have more then 3 No shows
Permanent Ban for Members who have 4 No shows

never imagined the first trek to be this AWESOME! everything from climbing up to rope climbing.... witnessing the sunset along with the moon rise.. n wht better day than the one with full moon! .. playing holi to climbing down n seeing the beautiful silhouette of the fort against moonlight .... lots of memories for each second of the 10 hours long trip we had! :) Kudos to the organisers! n hats off to the motivators! :D looking forward to future trips! :)

Hello Guys Good morning and wish u all a very Happy Holi.Abt the Bhongir trek there r no words to praise.It was really worth for me driving all the way to Hyd for a trek and i really loved it.Spl thnx to padmaja if she had not been there i would have run down from the middle and she kept on encouraging me and also spl thnx to deepam sir and prashant who r really very patient and cooperative and the grp it was really rocking on the rocks.the IIIT they entertained with non stop singing .

I kind of agree with Kalyani. It was not a natural rock but a man made structure which is already in the ruins. We should be sensitive to such things in the future.

I was upset for all who RSVped Yes and didnt turn up and also for people who did last moment changes in their programms. Just because of you many people lost the opportunity to be part of this trek Few poeple so badly wanted to make for it, still I couldnt give them a chance. Very sad.
