Staying Indoors? on this 19-20 Dec weekend, GHAC comes to your rescue, join us on a 2 days 1 Night trip to Kallem Village - Warangal Dist.

About 80 Kms from Hyderabad is Kallem Village in Pembarthy, Warangal District, this area is know for its lush greenery and agriculture. There is a Big Lake nearby for kayaking and a Rocky Hill for Bouldering. We will trek in the surrounding areas, cook our dinner and breakfast, sleep under the sky in tents and have a great time together, There are 2 bedrooms and a living room on the farm, if you are not the outdoors type, you can sleep inside.

Transport :we will need Three cars apart from the Host's Car

Itinerary
19 Dec 2009
8:45 AM - Assemble at Westside - Chapel Road - near LB Stadium at 8:45 AM sharp
9:00 AM start for Kallem Village
11:00 am - Reach Kallem Village
11 am -01 pm - check out the local village and surrounding farm lands
1:30 pm Lunch at the farm
2:30 pm - trek out at nearby green hills/ Kayaking at the Nearby Lake
6:30 pm - back to farm
7:00 pm - cook Dinner
8:00 - 9:00 have dinner
9:00 - 12 pm - star gazing
12:pm - retire in tent for the night

20 Dec 2009
6:00 am - wake up call
6:30 am - Break fast
7:00 - 1:30 - Trekking and Bouldering at the Hills nearby
02:00 - Lunch
03:30 start for hyderabad
5:30 pm reach Hyderabad

Things to bring
Sleeping bag or 2 bedsheets
warm clothes
tent if you have one
torch lite
some snacks to eat
mosquito repellent
water bottles -2

What you can wear:
a. Wear light colored cotton tracks and sport shoes for trekking
b. Hat, sun-screen, sun-glasses.
c. Dark Colored Long Shorts or pants and Tshirt for Girls for kayaking
d. Swim Shorts or pants for Boys for kayaking


Expectations from participants:
a. Reach the starting point on time.
b. Taking care of self and pillion rider (on a bike) and passengers (in a car). No absurd/rash driving or
riding. No overtaking. The club or organizer is NOT responsible for your actions. Please take utmost care!
c. No alcohol and No smoking.
d. Strictly No quarrels, calling Nicknames, getting personal or making jokes about anybody. Anybody not
following this rule will be asked to leave immediately.


If coming in own Vehicle
a. Driving License
b. Registration Certificate
c. Pollution Certificate
d. Insurance Certificate
e. Helmet for Bikes
f. Make sure vehicle is in good condition and tuned for long distance driving
g. fill in sufficient fuel for 200 Kms - petrol charges will be shared and reimbursed

Driving Directions
Hyderabad > Ramanthapur > Ghatkesar > Bibinagar > Bhuvanagiri > Reddy Gudem > Aleru > Pembarthi

At Pemberthi take a right turn after VBIT Engg college and go towards Manikyapuram village. cross the village and u will find a house on the hill 300mtrs after the village on the left. take a left turn and drive for 100 meters

Damages for petrol sharing and food about Rs 300 per head

    Had good time. Met lots of interesting ppl and spent time doing various activities - played football, walked around the village, star gazing etc.. Special thanks to Ram for hosting all of us at his farm. Also the drive from Hyderabad till farm was great as we had nice weather..

    It was good trip and it would have been wonderful if we could have one more day for trekking and bouldering. I really missed the Horse riding, hope next time they will be up and running. Thanks Ram for hosting, wish to see more camps and treks in future Thank you all?

    I will be driving a sedan (City). Word of caution - I am very unfamiliar with the area and so directionally challenged. I would need atleast one passenger who is good at providing directions. [masked]
