The Narsapur forest is 45 KM north from Hyderabad in the Medak district. spread between Gummadidala and Narsapur towns. This forest spans over 30sq km and has a mini-ghat section, thick forest, a hill, a large lake, a good number of birds, butterflies, varied flora and fauna and our ancestors (monkeys). Lately, this has become a hotspot for Telugu film shootings.

When: 26 September 2009

Trek Grade : Easy to Medium (4-5 hours of trekking in the forest)

Things to do: Trekking, hill climbing, visit the lake

Cost: Rs 150

Route: start from Panjagutta - Ameerpet - Balanagar - Jeedimatla - Medak Road - Narsapur

Precautions
No smoking, No booze
Only vegetarian food to be carried in lunch boxes
Don't litter

Transport
Car pool based on no.of trekkers. At max, we will have 5 cars. ( those bringing cars will get petrol expense shared among the group)

Tentative Itinerary:
7.45 AM: Assemble just before the panjagutta Police Station opp Shanbhag hotel
8:00 AM: start for narsapur
9:00 AM: reach narsapur Hanuman temple
9:15.00 AM: briefing and introductions
09:30 AM: trek around in the jungle
01.30 AM: rest for lunch - back to cars
2.00 PM: drive to the narsapur village lake and swim or do some kayaking if feasible
2:30 PM: some recreational games beside the lake side
4:00 PM: drive back to Hyderabad
5.00 PM: reach Hyderabad


Things to Bring:
Backpack/duck bag
Fruits/Vegetables/Chocolates/Munch bars/Snacks/LUNCH/
Raingear/Cap/Umbrella/Windcheaters
Wear only sport/Trek shoes and loose tracks
Wear long sleeves clothes to avoid injuries from bushes/shrubs/thorns
Water Bottles - 3 Liters ( there is no water source)
packed Lunch no hotels nearby
a mat/bed sheet for resting
Band-aid/medications(if any)/Glucose - D
Cameras to click kodak moments!
Lots of energy and smiles

Documents
valid Govt issued Identity Card for everyone
Vehicle RC, driving license, insurance with pollution certificate.


Rules
* a member, who has never done any treks with this group gets FIRST priority
* a member, who is ready for car pool will get SECOND priority
* A member who has already RSVP "yes" for another trek in the same month cannot join this trek
* a member who has completed one trek in the same month cannot join this trek
* At max, there will be ONLY 2 organizers

    Sir, I guess most of the ladies got left out because there was one trek exclusively for ladies this month... and this group has a one trek per month concept. Not to worry, women play a very active role in this group.

    SOME FOOD FOR THOUGHT!
    i have been taking part in many activities in the community n society, at local to international level.i find something that could be qualify as an anomaly!the system of forming the trek groups in the club seems to have resulted in ONLY ONE LADY finding a place!i am of the humble opinion that the group may think of evolving some harmonious method to enable more lady members find a place in different treks/activities.
    indian society makes things more difficult to women!

    I am sorry but I would not be able to make it to the trek due to a family engagement. I just saw that my WL has been upgraded as I had not checked my mail over the last few days. I apologise for the delayed response and wish everybody a lot of fun & adventure.

    extremely sorry to say that i am down with fever, though i am recovering but still i think there r lots of WL candidates who deserve this trek on fitness ground in comparison to me. i shall obey the GHAC rules and thus withdrawing . to all the participants :- have a nice time and bring lots n lots of smiles and pleasant memories.

    members can attend only 1 trek per month, those that have rsvped yes for this trek but have attended other treks in the same month are removed - sorry - have to follow rules
